Chickasha Area Economic Development Council

The Chickasha Area Economic Development Council works with existing business and industry to maximize opportunities for growth by addressing situations that present obstacles to expansion, by providing financing mechanisms, and by working to maintain a healthy business climate. Existing industry expansion is a key ingredient in Grady County’s economic growth and continues to show new possibilities.

In addition to existing industry growth, EDC concentrates on recruiting new industries to the area.

The efforts of EDC generate economic interest through direct mail campaigns, advertising, trade shows, call trips, networking and organizational interaction.

The office maintains information on existing industrial and commercial facilities, land sites and a broad range of topics, such as the availability of utilities, infrastructure, governmental services, educational and labor resources, as well as demographic, geographic, transportation and quality of life data. EDC also assists area businesses in accessing all available local and state incentives.

The coordinated efforts of organizations such as the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce, Chickasha, Inc., the Grady County Industrial Authority, the Chickasha Industrial Authority, and the Chickasha Area Economic Development Council provide the resources for continued growth in Grady County.

Chickasha, Inc., a private non-profit entity in existence since the 1960’s, provides financing and investment funds for new and expanding industries in the area. In addition, both the Chickasha Industrial Authority and the Grady County Industrial Authority provide access to funding avenues including public trust financing. These entities undertake real estate development investment projects that result in job creation within the city and county. Visit the City of Chickasha's website for additional municipal information.

Chickasha is centrally located just 35 miles southwest of Oklahoma City and Will Rogers World Airport. Transportation needs are served by seven major state and federal networks, including Interstate 44.  Both Interstate 40 and Interstate 35 are within a 30 minute drive of the community.

Chickasha also serves as a crossroads for several major transportation highways including US 81, US 62, US 277, SH 9, SH 19, SH 39 and SH 92. The Chickasha Municipal Airport caters to corporate air transportation needs with a fully lighted 5,100' runway.  A new terminal, two bulk hangars and a 12,00 sq. ft. aircraft maintenance facility were constructed in 2001.
