THEGOODSTUFF:

There are some incredible stories behind the businesses, organizations and people we see every day.
We drive past their buildings.
We eat at their restaurants.
We shop in their stores.
We see their names on signs and advertisements, but how much do we really know about them?
That's one reason the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce has created the Chamber Channel on YouTube.
We want to sit down with local business owners and Community leaders, have a conversation and let them tell their stories.
Not a commercial.
Not a scripted sales pitch.
A conversation.
Recently, we sat down with Fred McNatt, owner of Legend's Pubhouse, and it was exactly what we hoped the Chamber Channel could become. Fred shared some great stories, and we learned more about the person and the story behind a business many of us already know, like does his venue really have 22 bathrooms?
And it got me thinking… Who should we talk to next? There are businesses in Chickasha that have been here for generations. There are newer businesses whose owners took a chance on our community. There are entrepreneurs who started with an idea and turned it into something successful. There are people who employ dozens or even hundreds of our neighbors whose stories most of us have probably never heard.
I want to hear those stories. How about you?
Maybe you have always wondered how a particular Chickasha business got started.
Maybe there's a restaurant where you've eaten for years and you'd like to meet the person behind it.
Maybe there's a manufacturer or industrial business you drive past every day and have absolutely no idea what they make inside that building. Maybe there's a longtime Chickasha business with a story that younger generations need to hear. Or maybe there is someone quietly doing something remarkable right here in our community who deserves a little time in the spotlight. Tell us!
Send the Chamber the name of a business or person you think we should feature on the Chamber Channel and, even better, tell us the question you would like us to ask them. What do they make?
How many people do they employ? Why did they choose Chickasha? How did they get started?
What's the craziest thing that's ever happened in their business? What do they think Chickasha will look like ten years from now?
One of the things I've learned over the years is that every business has a story, and every person has a story. Sometimes we just need to take the time to ask. That's what I hope the Chamber Channel becomes: another way to introduce Chickasha to Chickasha.
Because the more we know about the people who invest here, work here, create jobs here and call this place home, the more reasons we discover to be proud of our Community.
So now it's your turn…What do you want to know about Chickasha?, and who should we interview next?
Send us your ideas. You might just see your question answered on the next Chamber Channel.
There's a lot happening in Chickasha and a lot of great stories we haven't told yet and that’s#TheGoodStuff.
